Here's a holiday-themed test over at MSNBC:
Do you have what it takes to become a citizen? Potential citizens need to score 80% or above to be looked upon favorably by the INS. However, I have a modest proposal for expanding the use of this test...
I know standardized testing has a negative connotation these days, and as a teacher I can say that it is with good reason. (I do admit to a certain amount of smugness around the topic, because I always was a good test-taker. But I digress.) However, what if everyone had to take this test, citizen or not? And what if any citizen who scored too low was subject to deportation and replacement by an aspiring citizen who scored better? Yeah, I know, it's unconstitutional as hell, but kinda fun to think about, no?
I invite you to comment with your candidates for D&R (deportation and replacement).
Happy 4th, all!
