Is DeLay going down or not? Let's hope not. We'll need his corrupt ass as a punching bag so we can use it to defeat Republicans in 2006.
Watching NPR's Mara Liasson join Kristol and the nasally Fox guy in a lame attempt to act like DeLay's corruption is no big deal (no more corrupt than anyone else in Washington), I started to worry.
But watch the blue state Republicans. That's how you can tell DeLay is really in trouble. First the Republican editorial page of the Wall Street Journal notes DeLay's getting an odor, then Chris Shays of CT and even Rick man-on-dog Santorum of PA are starting to un-pucker their lips.
This would be the time to test every blue state Republican we can think of. Linc Chafee, who's up in 2006 in RI, Olympia Snowe. How about some of those governors. Governor Ehrlich in MD, how do you feel about the House Majority Leader? Mitt Romney, care to comment?
