Lynne Cheney, America's seductively sapphic Second Lady, has prevented Penguin publishing from reissuing her 1981 grrl novel
Sisters.
Sisters contains such gripping passages as:
Let us go away together, away from the anger and imperatives of men. There will be only the two of us, and we shall linger through long afternoons of sweet retirement. In the evenings I shall read to you while you work your cross-stitch in the firelight. And then we shall go to bed, our bed, my dearest girl."
But now that lesbianic Lynne's representing the GOP, it goes without saying that she must disavow any suggestion that sexual activity and/or independence from men are acceptable ideas for the weaker sex to entertain.
The lawyer for the Vice squad, Robert Barnett, insists that there was no threat of legal action against Penguin publishing, so one must wonder what action was threatened in order to convince Penguin to change its mind within one hour of their conversation.
And for a good time, check out the reviews and recommendations at Amazon for Sisters, or check out the official Sisters website at WhiteHouse.org.
