Dropping Knowledge (UPDATE)

On August 19th, I wrote a diary about the "Table Of Free Voices" that will be gathering in Berlin on September 9, 2006.

112 participants will gather around a vast round table, each with a video camera facing them, as they, together, answer 100 of today's most crucial questions, selected from thousands submitted to the Dropping Knowledge
website over the past few years.

The information gathered from each individual will be put into an internet library for all to see and access.
This sharing of information; this form of "dropping knowledge" to each other is the concept.  When you question in order to understand, when you answer in order to share, you are dropping knowledge.

The audio/visual library will be put into an internet archive with an estimated 672 hours of material, translated into numerous languages and made freely accessible to all in a variety of media formats.

The impact this project will have is unknown exactly, mainly because something of this magnitude has never been attempted on this scale.  However, it does show the importance even more how critical it is to push for net neutrality.

I'll write one more update right before the 9th.
