Don't Feed the Fox!

Fri Aug 25, 2006 at 06:24:28 AM PDT

Everybody knows that Fox "news" is not a news network at all, but a right-wing propaganda machine. Time and time again, Democrats appear on their talk programs only to get yelled at, ridiculed and not get their word out. Now and then, someone scores a small victory (see the recent diaries about Ann Coulter getting pwned) and it's a big deal because the cards are so stacked against us that any victory is significant.

So what would happen, if, collectively, as a party, the entire Democratic party decided NOT TO APPEAR ON FOX. I can hear a bunch of you saying-- "Oh, no-- that would be terrible. There'd be no one to counter their bullshit". I would agree, if it were one or two Democrats boycotting the network, but if it were the ENTIRE PARTY, it would isolate Fox and call attention to their blatant bias, and put the media on notice that we aren't going to put up with this bullshit anymore. Fox's unfair "reporting" would become headline news in itself on all the other networks.

Of course, the timing of such a strike is key. We don't want to distract from important stories like Iraq, Darfur, Afghanistan, etc. But those are ongoing and some distraction is inevitable. At any rate, it's more substantial than John Mark Karr or "is a Lamont win good for the terrorists" and an action like this may go a long way to prevent bullshit, leading, loading questions like the latter. Ok, I'm going to get off my soapbox for now... I know this is a radical idea, and goes against the prevailing wisdom, but please think about it... I think it could work.

Oh-- and sorry for the caps in places. I don't see the little italics and bold buttons that show up when you make comments. I don't mean to shout, just emphasize.
