TAKING IT BACK!

To be held at the Grand Lake Theatre September 27, 2006.  Please see the description below and note that we will have an Air America simulcast and help promoting this event.  We are now working on all actions associated with this event and need more volunteers to join our Group.

Please join Progressive Action East Bay as we build on our initiatives to take back the Country and Congress in 2006.  Central to this effort is our event at the Grand Lake Theatre scheduled for Wednesday evening, Sept 27th , 7 to 9 pm. We have invited Barbara Boxer, Ron Dellums, Barbara Lee, Robert Reich, Jerry Brown, and Bill Lockyer (and possibly Phil Angelides) to draw a crowd of motivated activists. We are in contact with Mimi Kennedy (well known Actress and Progressive Activist) to be the Host/MC for the event.  

We plan to present a short 20 minute promo of a soon to be released progressively-oriented documentary film to set the stage.

After the film and the remarks from our speakers, the public will be greeted with a lobby filled with progressive organizations.  These will include (those contacted - confimed and/or to be contacted) the League of Conservation Voters, Project Blue Bridge, Buy Blue, ActBlue, Alameda Democratic Party, DNC, and representatives of the Democratic "Get Out the Vote" drive, and have invited local Democratic Progressives in the Bay Area to join us in the audience that evening. These organiztions will be staged in the lobby ready to register voters and sign up activists for important activities from registering voters to this fall and taking progressive action.

We are really excited to have the event at the Grand Lake Theatre. Rep. Barbara Lee held a Town Hall there last July to an audience of 600+ SRO. We hope to do the same.
