Battle Cry

Wed Aug 09, 2006 at 04:04:36 AM PDT

I e-mailed this to everyone I know.  This message is not for Kossacks who are, by and large, politically active.  It's a battle cry to those who use hopelessness as an excuse to do nothing.

We have a proven record, folks.  NOW is the time to get your apathetic friends on the bandwagon.

Subject:  We win AGAIN. . . any MORE excuses?
Body:
In Montana, organic farmer Tester beat state auditor Morrison:

. . . Tester was out-spent 2 to 1.

Vietnam veteran Webb beat former lobbyist Miller:

. . . Webb was out-spent 3 to 1.

And tonight, THREE incumbents just went down, but the big trophy head we nailed to the wall is Joe Lieberman, a greasy, two-faced 18-year incumbent with every big-money backer from DC consulting firms to corporate media giants behind him.
http://www.nwprogressive.org/...
. . . Lamont was out-spent 2 to 1.  Lieberman intends to run as an Independent.

I watched every race closely.  The good guy won despite being out-spent by the D.C. insiders.

From this point on, no excuses.  No reason to do nothing about our country is justified anymore.  Anyone who says something like, "There's no point in trying; big money will always win," is just being lazy, because these results are flat-out proof of the opposite.  There are hard-working people throwing out absolute political titans (Lieberman, former VP nominee, is about as big as they get), and it's now up to you whether to back them or abandon them by this November.

Ball's in your court.  If you don't fight now, you were never one of the good guys to begin with.
