Armando talks today about the piece from Herbert in the NYT, bringing up the possibility that there may be a strategy to legitimize Gonzales by having the administration seemingly "come clean." This may not be far from the truth.
Also in the NYT today is the story entitled Rumsfeld Seeks Broad Review of Iraq Policy

In it they go on to describe how General Luck(what an ironic name!) will come out of retirement and journey to Iraq to conduct an extensive reassment of Pentagon policy. This all smacks of shameless theatre!
With any "Luck", maybe Rumsfeld will keep his job, eh? This whole thing reeks of a Rovian blitzkrieg in the making, or maybe the "Republican Tsunami" someone was talking about earlier. Is there some moral high ground we can all head for, or a warning network that we can activate?
Any thoughts or comments?
I sometimes think that all we have left as a weapon is satire. If you get a chance please check out my piece on Rumsfeld that I posted last night: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/1/6/221044/8297
It was buried immediately by about 50 posts within an hour! I would really appreciate any thoughts or input.
