Condi: Clinton's "flatly false" claims

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yesterday accused Bill Clinton of making "flatly false" claims that the Bush administration didn't lift a finger to stop terrorism before the 9/11 attacks. Another opportunity for Democrats to turn the Republican blame game against them has emerged.  

Neo-cons foolishly gave Bill Clinton the opportunity to respond to the one-sided claims reported in the "looming tower".   He effectively put responsibility back into the hands of the Bush administration by clarifying that his efforts were once concidered obsessive by his detractors. And in turn Clinton has also made the contentious claim that the Bush administration did not try to capture OBL.  

Condi Rice has tried to neutralize these claims, but has now set up the administration for the topic that dominated the first debate in the 2004 presidential election.  

Was the Bush administration distracted by thier obsession with Sadaam Hussain?  Who was the priority?  Indeed all indicators suggest that the Bush administration was focused on the wrong man.
