All Propaganda All The Time

One of the segments featured a reporter interviewing Taliban members... ten miles from a US military base. My thought: If the US and UN troops want to find or capture (or kill) Taliban members so badly, why not just follow the "news" crews to find the Taliban...? If it's so easy for "news" crews to find Taliban members, why is it so difficult for the UN and US military forces to do so...? Is it just me, or does anyone else see the illogicality?
Couric's "news" will feature a daily "free speech" segment. The one aired Tuesday night featured someone I've never heard of saying most Americans he knows are somewhere in the middle politically, and his only criticism was that he heard too much about the extreme right and the extreme left on TV. The CBS web site revealed the guy is Morgan Spurlock, the author of Supersize Me "sounding off on the lack of civil discourse" - Huh? The only "lack of civil discourse" going on is the fact that there is NO "civil discourse" of any kind happening in in Lamestream McMedia - it's decidedly neoConservative propaganda. Gimme a break! The few times I see any Democratic viewpoints, I can count on a McSpinmeister or a Congress Critter with a (usually) opposing political party ridiculing the Democrat, and McSpinmeisters regularly go on the attack if anyone espouses any kind of withdrawal of troops from Iraq. What is with Lamestream McMedia promoting McIdiot's illegal and unconstitutional war?!? Are they ghouls who like reporting how many people died in McIdiot's war every day? Is that more newsworthy than talking about the unconstitutional and illegal activities of the McIdiot or his McAdministration? Wouldn't they rather report on anything other than the deaths of young men and women dying or being injured in Iraq or Afghanistan?
Couric invited people to send in their ideas for "free speech" segments. Yeah, like they'll really air anything that remotely criticizes the McAdministration or their War on Global McTerrorism, and expose it for the fear-and-war-mongering rhetoric it really is (all designed to keep the kool-aid-drinking-sheeple voting for them this fall), or feature anyone revealing the truth about the reason for Resident McIdiot's war in Iraq: control of the oil there, and the US oil corporations who are benefiting from the new Iraq laws governing oil...! Heaven forbid that anyone in Lamestream McMedia would ever broadcast anything remotely truthful that hasn't been vetted by the White House or Pentagon propaganda censors with a decidedly PNAC approach aimed at global domination! It's bad enough that ABC is going to run a fictional account of the events leading up to 9/11; even before I found out it was a mocumentary, I decided not to watch any kind of idiocy involving the most fortunate day in the life of Resident McIdiot. I saw the reality; I may be old, but my memories are intact and I don't need to watch a fictionalized account disguised as a mocumentary about that day.
I'm still waiting for anyone in Lamestream McMedia to air any kind of honest news and views about the high crimes and misdemeanors and war crimes on the part of the McAdministration - daily, several times a day, until we get sick of hearing about their high crimes, misdemeanors, and war crimes - I want to hear about investigations into this McAdministration's wrongdoings as often as I heard about Clinton's blow job daily, several times a day, for years on end (McSpinmeisters are still talking about Clinton's blow jobs six years later, so I think they're still jealous)...! As of right now, I believe no one will hear about the McIdiot's McAdministration's high crimes and misdemeanors and war crimes, not to mention unconstitutional actions, in Lamestream McMedia until - maybe - after they leave office in January 2009, if then (assuming they don't try to cancel the elections and set themselves up as a dictatorship-in-fact, and not just the de facto dictatorship they have now).
Couric's first guest interview: Resident McIdiot. (No, I didn't watch. Morbid curiosity is one thing; I'm not stupid enough to repeat many mistakes, and besides which, just hearing McIdiot's voice is enough to make me ill.) Thursday's "free speech" segment will feature Rush McLimpDick. When Couric announced those two little bomblets at the end of the show, that's when my jaw dropped through the floor. Like either one needs any more exposure in Lamestream McMedia to tout their alleged reasons for the "Global War on McTerrorism" and more time to ridicule anyone who wants our troops out of Iraq, or for the unconstitutional and illegal detention and torture of prisoners to stop, et cetera?!? Where is the "balance" in "network news?" "'Lib-rul' Media" my big fat arse! It's all neoCon Repuke-controlled propaganda...!
This morning before I was fully awake I started channel surfing. There was a "teaser" for tonight's segment of "free speech" on CBS's Evening Snooze with Couric, and Rush McLimpDick saying something to the effect 'Patriotism means everyone, Republican or Democrat, supporting this country to defeat Islamofascist.' That's not an exact quote, but close.... [Note to Self: Don't start channel surfing when you're only half awake; the results only make you feel physically sick and depressed for the rest of the day.]
So much for serious "news" in Lamestream McMedia. Apparently CBS evening snooze under the direction of Couric is going the way of ABC's and Faux Snooze's McReligious Reich-wingnuttia, and they're all going to remain McIdiot apologists and 'splainers of all the failed policies of the McAdministration.
All propaganda all the time....
That being the case, I have better things to do with my time, which all include turning my TV off and not spending any money that will benefit Lamestream McMedia advertisers....
