VoteVets is the only non-partisan political action committee formed by Iraq veterans to support the campaigns of those Iraq and Afghanistan veterans running for public office. We are focused on issues, not party labels.
If you visit VoteVets website, you will see a list of officially endorsed candidates for this fall. But it is clear, there are also some candidates that they are not happy with and are working against. Joe Lieberman appears to be one of them, and rightly so. VoteVets has just released this hard-hitting radio ad in CT.
...when it comes to war, we all depend on our elected officials to do their duty to answer the tough questions. What is our mission? What is victory? Senator Lieberman, where are those weapons of mass destruction?
This is an excellent point to stress whenever the Bush-Lieberman crowd tells us we shouldn't question the war and, if we do, we must not support the troops. No. We question the war on behalf of the troops, because they can't. We need more leaders in Washington who will support the troops by demanding answers. Let's let former Army Captain Jeremy Broussard sum it up as he does to end the ad.
We've been there. We have a lot of tough questions about the Iraq war. And the first one is, why didn't Joe Lieberman ask any of them?
This radio ad is also being accompanied by a full page newspaper ad in CT.
Combined with Ned's tough ad posted here yesterday (this diary whoring thing is kind of fun), this is a tough one-two punch against Joe Lieberman and all of the Bush Co. appeasers. We are not a one-issue campaign, but it is clear that Iraq is the biggest issue of the day whether we like it or not. It is time for a change!
