Ask your local station to pre-empt

"Pre-empt! And announce it now, and be hailed world-wide as a bastion of truth and responsibility in media. The choice is yours." That is what I'll be asking of as many local ABC affiliates as humanly possible today.
In regards to action against "The Path to 9/11", many point out that local ABC affiliates have no say in this matter, which is most certainly true. But they do have the ability to pre-empt programs. At this late date (Saturday morning), it seems to me this is a worthy tactic. We are looking for just a few good (principled) program managers, or at minimum, a few nervous ad sales managers. Send your letter to both.
Below is my letter to WCPO Cincinnati
Dear Sir or Madam:
Former President Clinton, 9/11 Commission member Richard Ben-Veniste, Former Secy of State Madeline Albright and many others have asked for The Path to 9/11 to be pulled from programing, for depicting ficticious events and distortions of the truth about 9/11. There can be no good or moral justifications for such distortions. I humbly add my name to their calls to pull the show, and offer my only recourse to such abuse of the public trust:
Boycott of your network, your station, and your advertisers.
It pains me to consider even boycotting local companies, as I prefer and patronize locally owned and smaller enterprises. But this is more important, and I intend to express this importance through my purchases, (or more to the point, my non-purchases.) I also reserve my right to inform others of this boycott and my reasons, as well as to inform the businesses I am avoiding, and how their association with ABC is causing this.
That said, all of this is not the main reason to pull this insidious show and to re-think your entire reasoning for programming it. The main reason is respect to the dead, and respect to those who fight on to prevent more deaths. Respect requires solemn telling of THE TRUTH about this tragedy.
Pre-empt! And announce it now, and be hailed world-wide as a bastion of truth and responsibility in media.
The choice is yours.
