Disney Compare and Contrast: Grey's Anatomy v. Spocko

I just saw this article up over at the NYTimes regarding Grey's Anatomy star Isaiah Washington's repeated use of an "anti-gay slur."  Here's the quote that really caught my eye:

The executive, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because company officials were instructed not to go beyond a prepared statement, said that Mr. Washington’s behavior could be considered grounds for dismissal under Disney’s corporate antidiscrimination policy.

ABC and Touchstone, Disney’s television studio, called Mr. Washington’s behavior "unacceptable" in a statement issued on Thursday, three days after Mr. Washington’s most recent remark, which occurred in the backstage press room at the Golden Globes ceremony last week.

Now, I hope y'all can appreciate the cognitive dissonance this statement from Disney made for me after following the adventures of Spocko and the Mouse for a couple of weeks.  Contrasting on the one hand Disney's threat of termination of an actor on a hit teevee show for using a homophobic epithet twice with, on the other hand, the all-snuff-radio all-the-time KSFO "talent," (whom I'm willing to bet have used Mr. Washington's slur themselves on more than one occasion) and Disney's corporate shyster attack on Spocko and his ISP for his writing to KSFO's advertisers about their vile threats and bigotry, well, it just truly staggered my imagination. It took my breath away.

Mike Stark's written eloquently about the whole mega-blogswarm that ensued.  I just thought this little bit of major corporate disconnect should be highlighted.
