Hillary, Back to the Future!

Mon Jan 22, 2007 at 10:44:40 AM PDT

For my dog, Wally, the social roles of males and females is pretty much set in stone. For us, however, the social roles of men and women are a little more evolved and complex. Today, I feel as if I am part of history in the making because I just signed up on the the Hillary for President website!
As I typed in my information, I reflected on how the fairness of our democratic process of government, with its checks and balances based loosely on the Native American Iroquois Confederation of inter-tribal treaties, has succeeded so well as to finally present us with Hillary Rodham Clinton, as potentially the first female President of the United States! Wow!
More below...

I have nothing but respect and admiration for Hillary. A candidate who can be said to have already "interned" for the job of president while her husband served in that role himself. No more perfect candidate for President of the United States exists, than Hillary Clinton!

Her poise and demeanor have always seemed to me to be regal, composed, and coming from a place of true integrity. I have always found her words to be thoughtful, insightful, and never pretentious.
While all the Native tribal chiefs may have been men, they were appointed by mothers and councils of grand mothers. This is one area of native custom that I always felt should have been included in our government. Seeing Nancy Pelosi rise to the position of Speaker of the House, brought tears to my eyes. For the simple reason that a mother, or more specifically, a grandmother, is more likely to make decisions on what is best for the children, and not for one’s pride, or profit, or for the legacy of a government office.
In Hillary, I see a woman who was brave enough to set out, against all adversity, and try to bring health care to the children, the poorest of Americans because... it simply needed to be done! It still does. And I trust she will not forget them.
America has never been more ready for a woman president. And never has a woman been more prepared to be president, than Hillary Clinton. Come November, 2008, I know who I will be voting for, and I hope that you will join me. Vote for Hillary... for America, for our grandparents, and for our children, unto the seventh generation!
