Honor, PTSD and Camp Followers: from the GNB

There is so much amazing work going on at the Group News Blog  Anybody who followed Steve Gilliard's News Blog knows that Steve and his great friend/blog partner Jen created a community that had some of the most amazing writers, stuff that hits hearts with sledgehammers, teaches, and changes minds.

I'm a long term NB'er, and have been reading GNB from the start. And, I often want to post here at Kos about the incredible stuff on GNB, but I find it hard to single out one of the 4 writers: Hubris Sonic, Jesse 'Doc' Wendel, Lower Manhattanite, and Sara Robinson they are all essential in a way that fully honors Steve's incomparable gifts. In fact, one of my near future projects is going back and highlighting on Kos a few of the GNB posts that were especially special to me...as this one is:

So, apparently I am faking my PTSD. Apparently the twenty fucking years its taken me to stop figuring out whether the person who is walking past me is going to try and kill and how can I kill them is all fake because my mother breast fed me or something. The years of insomnia and flared tempers to the point of violence is all faked because I am not macho enough. I guess I didnt drink enough tequila, shoot enough people or screw enough prostitutes in central America to be called 'a man' in these keyboard cowards eyes.

Ya know, its not like its not hard enough admitting you have this PTSD shit. You basement dwelling fucks...

I wish email and blogs had mirrors, so the people who read this, who've been standing on quicksand in this matter, would feel compelled to look and see themselves and hang their heads in the enormity of their shame.

And then, just fucking stop it.
