Go hamhandedly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what opportunity there may be in turmoil. As far as possible without surrender (!) be on realpolitik terms with all persons. Speak your "truth" loudly and Janus-faced; and ignore others, especially the bright and the knowledgeable; they always have their insignificant stories. Hire loud and aggressive persons, they are tools to be used to divide and conquer.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become extremely vain and bitter; for always there will never be greater persons than yourself. Revel in your half-assed policy decisions as well as your other schemes. Keep interested only in your own career, however vainglorious; it is a real possession in the changing misfortunes of our times.
Be like the china-shop bull in your business affairs, for the world is full of "terror"-ism. But let this blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for truly high ideals, and everywhere your efforts are full of false heroism. Be yourself. Especially, feign affection. Be cynical about love; for in the face of all beauty and hope, it is as perennial as the chokeweed in Crawford. Resist the counsel of the years, never surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of self-inflation to shield you in sudden media misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of other's rational fatigue and legitimate concern. Beyond your neglected presidency and nation, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of 'Murica, no less than the Congress and the courts; only you have a right to be here. And is clear to you, the universe is unfolding as it should. Eight hours a night and three squares a day. Working three days a week at most.
Therefore, be at war with all Humanity, whatever you conceive it to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep darkness in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world, ripe for the picking.
Be tyrranical.
Strive to be acquisative.
