OK, so we're all pretty well educated on the censure motion, and what the mechanics and theory are behind it. But in this thread, you offer your theories as to why it may be a good idea.
If you think the censure motion is a bad idea, I recognize and appreciate your position, but put those comments in a different diary, OK? I don't want to start a flamewar or anything.
I'll start:
CENSURE IS A GOOD IDEA BECAUSE: in 2006, there are a lot of Republicans running for re-election in their various states/districts, including 15 US senators. Many of them are terrified to be associated with President Bush because of low approval numbers.
This censure motion puts those Republican politicians in the position of having to defend the President. So when they go home to run their races, the voters will be reminded of how they stood strongly with a man most of them think is a bad president.
