CIA Director George Tenet has now made it plain the agency never claimed there was an imminent threat from Iraq, yet that's clearly what Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld & Co. sold the nation a year ago. If last year's hysterical urgency didn't come from the intelligence community, where could it possibly have come from? If the intelligence community didn't support an imminent danger analysis, what could possibly have justified pre-emptive military action?
Many, many more innocent people have already died in Iraq than in the 9/11 tragedy, and the carnage continues. Now that the world no longer trusts America, the reckless man in the White House is our biggest national security threat. We don't need to investigate intelligence agencies, we need to hold this President accountable. If killing thousands on false pretenses isn't an impeachable offense, it ought to be.
