Rove's TP to Charlie Rose: Public still stupid and forgetful.

Thu Nov 22, 2007 at 01:45:55 AM PDT

One of the great rule of relationships is believe what they tell you.  Don't project and don't hold out hope.  When they are not into you; they are not into you.

Rove totally played games and Rose let him.  Not one hardball follow up question asked.  Sort of layed out the bloggers can and do write anything because they are anonymous, no one would say such things to your face or in a letter.  Translation: it is rude to tell the truth and stick to the facts.

Rove basically laid out the way the repubs will win.  Blame it on the Congress.  The WH has absolutely no control over what the congress will do.  Examples:  The WH did not want the War Resolution until after the election.  Congress voting on it greatly reduced their ability to form international coalitions and alternatives.  Reid's immigration bill ticked everyone off because he would not allow all amendments to come to the floor for a total discussion.  People withdrew from being frustrated from not being heard.

The election will not be a referandum on the Bush presidency but a vote for a vision of the future.

His big regret not going after SS sooner.  SS is the disaster of the future for the economy.

The war will work out like Korea, it is already settling down.  Like Truman was appreciated later so will Bush.  We will spend the next ten years giving Iraq the space to become the powerhouse of democracy and capitalism that S. Korea is.

He is a myth.  Whenever there is something off or unexplained or unproven his name is attached to it.  He has come to just accept it.

He has a speaking tour for the next two years as a columnist for Newsweek.  He has hired a personal researcher and will be writing a book explaining how everything happened.  IMHO, it will come out just before the election.  After that he wants to do business and be on boards for a couple of years, and then find the right place to teach in.

I seriously doubt that Markos will get equal time.  No questions on anything that would be considered a major issue.
