WTF is going on? Mo Meta, Mo Betta

Big Eddie Schultz and Air America are going at it big time.  The Kossacks and the "Free Speech Advocates" are still mixing it up.  MSOC is still in meta-mode.

Meanwhile...

...a little-known loud-mouthed wingnut has succeeded in isolating John Edwards's campaign and is starting on Hillary and Obama.  As Kagro X writes, because Democratic candidates for President would not come to each other's defense in swiftboating attacks.

Firedoglake has been doing Pulitzer-level coverage liveblogging the Libby trial; Libby will not testify and probably neither will Cheney.  It's going to come down to how the jury evaluates the closing arguments and what instructions Judge Walton gives.

The House Democrats's 100 hours are over, and they've nothing to follow it up with.  Investigations are beginning in a number of key committees, but the RWCM has a news blackout on them and Bush has issued an executive order that essentially classifies every document in government as secret and beyond the purview of Congress.

The drumbeat for war in Iran is getting louder despite General Pace trying to spike the notion that Iran is sending weapons to kill our troops.  They are also sending weapons to SCIRI, who are nominally members of the puppet government.

And Bush has delivered his budget.  Toady Jim Lehrer and the NPR folks who have been shilling for Bush discover that such sycophancy goes unappreciated.  Their jobs are on the way to being toasted.  Do you really think progressives and Democrats are going to come to the defense of PBS and NPR this time around?  Didn't think so.

In other words, everything right now seems kinda nuts and likely to end up with us talking about President Duncan Hunter in 2009.

But the Democrats have never been known as an organized political party.  And the left's attitude toward organization and unity is, to put is politely, hostile.

The acrid smell of the illusion (or is that delusion) of success is strong in the air.  The strategy needs to be "Republicans eating their own" instead of the ongoing circular firing squad on the left.
