Every once in a while, there is a shift in party leadership. A few days ago I posted here and at
http://www.RussForPresident.com about how media coverage has made Senator Feingold the party's de-facto leader.
Well, there's a great new story up about this:

What's the deal? Well, Russ Feingold has been EVERYWHERE since stopping the Patriot Act. Read the whole article but check out some choice quotes:
On Monday, from the Senate floor, Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada called Feingold "one of the consciences" of Congress, then unfurled Feingold's credentials as a Rhodes Scholar and Harvard University law school graduate.
Next, Reid quoted Feingold's sound bite from Monday: "It's the president who wants to play chicken here."
More Below the fold:
Another quote:
An outrageous power grab," he said, talking about the Bush administration's directing the National Security Agency to monitor international telephone calls and international e-mail messages of people inside the United States without warrants.
"An absurd idea," he said, responding to a defense of the listening-in in light of a use-of-force resolution that Congress passed after Sept. 11, 2001.
Turn on the tube, and Feingold, a debater since Janesville Craig High School, might be on.
On Thursday, it was "Washington Journal" on C-SPAN. On Saturday, he was on "Weekend Today" on MSNBC and, after Bush's radio address, a live interview on CNN. By Saturday evening, it was a trifecta: interviews for the evening news on ABC, NBC and CBS.
On Sunday, he appeared on "Good Morning America" on ABC and "Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer" on CNN.
Of course, the juiciest quote isn't even in the article but Kos talks about it on the front page.
Sen. John Cornyn: "None of your civil liberties matter much after you're dead."
Feingold: "Give me liberty or give me death."
This man is sounding like he is going to be our next great leader in 2008 and beyond.
