Sen. Barack Obama won the endorsement Wednesday of former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, who said the White House hopeful "personifies the future of Democratic leadership in our country."

You can read the rest of the article, it's so short. As noted, it's interesting that Daschle would endorse Obama, given that he has served with Clinton, Edwards, Biden, and Dodd in the Senate, but never served with Obama. FYI, I am an Obama supporter, but I'll admit, I dont know how much endorsements matter. I think there was a frontpage story awhile back noting that in 04, Dick Gephardt got the most Congressional endorsements, and well, you know. I do think endorsements from state officials in key primary states could potentially help a candidate though. As far as Daschle's endorsement, we'll see it how much it helps. If it opens Obama up to some donors and people in key states, it could be significant. If not, it might not mean much.
