RBN: Best of Redstate, 2/27/2007

When heckled by an audience member after trashing Cheney, Lewis Black fired back "Fuck you, and your Republican Bullshit Nonsense." Well, in what may become a somewhat regular feature, I bring you the best of redstate.com, some rather hilarious stuff, which is pure RBN. We read this crap so you don't have to, but we bring the laughs of the idiocy of conservatism.

In the queue today:

** It seems that it would be a terrible thing if TSA workers were allowed to unionize. Bush has threatened a veto! What is the RBN party line? That unions might create more donations for the Dems:

The President threatens to veto S-4 over TSA unionization
What's more important? Campaign donations from a new union? Or national security?

Give me a break. The TSA workers might actually do a better job (or, uh, a job — the procedure to keep liquids and gels off the plane seems to be to ask nicely if you have any liquids, as the x-rays can't really detect them) if they were able to collectively bargain for better pay. But who cares about airline security! The important thing is union bashing!

Chertoff compares the TSA employees to the troops:

"Marines don't collectively bargain over whether they're going to wind up, you know, being deployed in Anbar province or in Baghdad," Chertoff told reporters after a briefing with senators. "We can't negotiate over terms and conditions of work that goes to the heart of our ability to move rapidly in order to deal with the threats that are emerging."

Hell, if the troops have the same morale as the numbskull scribbling on my ticket, standing around doing absoultely nothing, and searching old ladies, no wonder we're winning in Iraq!

** Speaking of which: The Surge is Working is pure RBN. It needs no explanation. If the surge were working, why are deaths spiking up?!

** Senator Levin supports attacking Iran too! He said:

I think we ought to take action on all fronts including Syria.

Oh, right. Republicans have no subtlety. "Action" can only mean bombs! How much action is packed in to "talks" or even "sanctions." None! Boring! Let's send the boys off to die!

Levin, I would assume, is probably not too keen on bombing the rest of the Middle East.

** This one is just funny, not even for the content of the referenced article, but how they referenced it. They say "The San Francisco Gate is reporting that..." The San Francisco Gate? What newspaper is that? If you read the page, you'd see that the website is entitled "sfgate.com" but it is the site of the San Francisco Chronicle, whose masthead is displayed at the top of the article.

Wow.

** Dick "Dick" Cheney was attacked. Sort of. They say:

Fortunately, we can write this off as another failed Taliban attack.

Failed? Is it a failure when the Taliban only kills 23, and wounds many, including American soldiers? If that is failure, I'd hate to see success. This kind of reasoning can only come from people who think success is 3000+ deaths and a civil war, and failure is bringing the troops home.

This is, of course, from people defending a man less popular than OJ, Spiro Agnew and Stalin better. Only Paris Hilton scored worse. But even she isn't pure evil.
