Last night came news that Harry Mitchell has entered the race to beat g00p incumbent J.D. Hayworth. Today comes news, from the
Arizona Republic, hints that King may drop out.
Larry King, a public-policy consultant who ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination in 2002, launched a campaign this year, but Mitchell said the two "are working things out." King could not be reached for comment.
Without knowing much about King, a clear shot for Mitchell against Hayworth would be good news for us in November.
Mitchell's entry in the 5th Congressional District contest gives Hayworth a high-profile, seasoned Democratic opponent in his bid for a seventh term.
Putting this race on the map increases our chances of taking back the House pins down the Republicans in a state they used to own. Best of luck to all of you AZ kossacks!
