a strategy to get republicans to support impeachment!

Sat Mar 17, 2007 at 01:14:31 AM PDT

i have it! i KNOW how we can get a majority of republicans to join with the democrats to rid this nation of the worst disaster to ever infect this nation AND their party!

it is really simple and it is foolproof!  the lightbulb flashed after reading the diary of the pelosi-not-ready-to-be president...

what is keeping the republicans for supporting the end of the bush presidency?

simple - a loss of political power - so, let's give them some hope!

we do not have the majority to get even a simple up or down vote on impeachment, much less a veto proof vote... so what do we do?

it is really quite simple, folks!  surprised no one has thought of it earlier! in the best spirit of compromise, would YOU do what is best for this nation?

here's my proposal.  cheney has to go.  period.  allow the republicans to put a halfway decent guy into that second slot and THEN offer them the opportunity to rid themselves (and us) of bush through impeachment - this would leave them with an incumbant in position to make a decent run for the office in 2008.

why is this a win-win?  first, the threat of bush/cheney is removed.  secondly, we do not have to live in fear of new more bizarre attacks on other nations, nuclear war and further slide on the international front where our national integrity continues to be called into question.

we then will run for the 2008 office with some degree of substance instead of waiting to "sweep" the office with what is left of our tattered national reputation.

the dems will have a breather from having to hold non-stop hearings further unconvering the massive corruption that has been bushco - we will be rid of the beast!

okay - i'm willing to make such a trade-off?  how about you?  and who would you like to see put into cheney's place?  i, for one, want to see someone who is at the VERY least, COMPETENT on an international basis - we need to work on restoring this nation's reputation before it is too late.

French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin had a fascinating observation per the boston globe today as he said the u.s. needs to leave iraq now and start trying to rebuild it's place in the world community.  this is one way we could do that.

for america - i would be willing.  would you?
