Today the DNC sent an email to its supporters that illustrates a problem with the Democratic Party that insiders simply can't solve. The message uses the word `values' three times--without ever articulating (or even hinting) what those values are.
But we can rest assured, according to the email, that the DNC will be fighting for those values, whatever they might be.
This is a symptom of a stale, spooked, and out-of-touch leadership that says to itself, "Boy, people don't seem to think we have values," and thinks that simply saying the word `values' over and over again will do the job.
We need a leader who will demonstrate those values--by talking about the fact that poverty and inequality in the world's richest nation are a disgrace, that we have a responsibility to help people grow old with dignity, that it is immoral and wrong to pile up more and more debt that will bankrupt the next generation of Americans, that anyone who wants to deny an American their equal rights because of fear or bigotry ought to be ashamed of themselves.
Sign the petition to tell the DNC that we need to draft Governor Howard Dean as our next party chairman. We can't afford to wait.
