I used to like blondes

This is a fluff diary. If you're looking for information stop here.
I was thinking the other day, (my girlfriend, bless her soul, knows this already) how I used to eye every blonde on the subway, street, theatre or otherwise. I was, blinded by the blondes.
Lately though, whenever I see a statuesque, willowy blonde, the first thing I see is Ann Coulter. I see a pair of sneering cruel, insincere lips, with flashing ignorant eyes. This has happened with a lot of women recently. Women I saw in the city, glanced at, and glanced again. Each time, I reflexively see, like a specter trying to possess, or a crosshair trying to find it's target, Coulter. Up until just today there was a class of blonde that didn't bother me. The sweet kind, and then Dana Perino came into my life. Here I thought, oh, she's another cute Republican blonde. Well, maybe she's different, she is after all the umpteen press secretary Bush has gone through. Maybe they were going to pick a sweetheart this time, someone who, like the rest, was blessedly ignorant, but at least wasn't snide.
Oh no. Oh no. Dana, you didn't. I just saw the C&L post of Dana Perino, first saying that the Congress has no oversight over the executive. And then a back to back clip of her admitting today that 'well, you might have a little.' Which would have been fine. Is it contradictory? Sure. Is it the 'voice of the president of the United States' caught again? No doubt. But I've never, ever expected anything more from these people.
What came next, is what spoiled blondes for the rest of history. Call it the 'End of [blonde] History' Fukayama, eat your heart out.
"And we have worked with the new majority in Congress, but there does kind of seem a point where there is overreaching." I'm not sure whether or not to make that one word or not, frankly I'm not sure it's even a word. Hyphen this, I say! And then she sneers, it isn't perfect yet, it isn't the classic Republican sneer, but it's close, and who knows, this might be Dana's own particular style, a small twist, a purse of the lips.
Such a shame. I'm so sorry for all you nice liberal blondes out there. But, for you brunettes, it's liberal boy party time! I jest. You just ruined that class of blonde for all eternity. Which is fine. My honey isn't one. But what a shame for all you untaken liberal blokes. The Great American Blonde, spoiled by two (four including Bush's daughters)
The point is, and I'm not lying, for weeks now, when I see a blonde turn around, for a split second, I see the lying, hateful face of Ann Coulter. But isn't that what the people are under a fascist-lite regime? Pavlovian dogs? It's irrational, and I know it, but so is the rest of human behavior.
