Is Impeachment in the Works? (Poll)

So, it's a lazy Sunday morning and I'm listening to progressive radio legend Larry Bensky give his last show at KPFA radio (Berkeley).  The two hour special is a tribute to Larry and his long running show Sunday Salon.

It is a mildly entertaining program for the most part, consisting mainly of Larry and his old radio buddies telling hippie war stories (some well worth listening to).  

Then, all of a sudden, things get VERY interesting.

Beginning at 29:08 in the archived tape of the show, guest Dennis Smithson asks Larry what his future plans are.  

Larry responds at 29:38:

I do want to continue national specials.  In fact when I gave notice six months ago I told them there was one condition under which I would consider staying and that is if we had made substantial progress toward the impeachment of George W. Bush.  But we haven't.

And that's when KPFA news producer Stephanie Hendricks drops this bombshell:

I was just in Conyer's office this week.   I produced a Congressional briefing with him, and let me tell you. It's in the works.

Holy Interobang Batman?!  

But wait, Stephanie must be talking about the impeachment articles Dennis Kucinich has already filed against Dick Cheney.  Right?

Larry:

Well, I know a resolution has been filed impeaching Dick Cheney, but as far as....it was my political judgment that it was not substantially far along to provide the kind of...

Nope.  Stephanie sticks to her guns:

Well, I think the Conyers staffers are very enthusiastic.  For what it's worth, I'm just reporting back.

Larry then cuts to a break, and doesn't mention anything afterward about Stephanie's intriguing report.
