In response to the
UN Human Rights Committee's horrible report telling the U.S. to shut down the secret detention centers that became so popular with this administration after 9/11, the State Department replies:
Washington accused the committee of spending too much time on the United States.
The recent committee conclusions on North Korea were about half the length of that on the United States," the U.S. mission to the United Nations in Geneva said in a statement.
So, in other words, wah, wah, you think we're bad just look at those guys. I'm sorry but I was under the understanding that we're supposed to be better than the North Korea's of the world.
Some more crybaby antics from our beloved government:
Mark Lagon, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs, in a conference call from Washington said, the U.S. is being unfairly held to a higher human rights standard than other countries.
Of course, we're held to a higher standard. We helped set the standard that's being applied. The truly sad part is that we no longer live up to the high standards we've set for ourselves for the last couple hundred years. Who's fault is that, some UN human rights group or ours?
