A lot of us here (and it should be every Democrat) are vitally interested in what is going on in Congress regarding the destruction of Social Security. It is especially important that we all know who is taking what position on the issue. A lot of us already know what Josh Marshall is doing, but I want to make sure everyone here does and can keep track.
Josh Marshall has been lining up lists of the Democrats (Fainthearted Faction) who are apparently leaning towards privatizing part of the program (that is, towards destroying it) and the Republicans (Conscience Caucus) who are not strongly supporting such destruction. This is the job of a Whip in Congress, but Josh is duplicating it and publicizing who is for and against destroying Social Security. The fact that we know this information will allow us to put pressure on the House and Senate Leaderships.
To keep up with his work, go to his "Talking Points Memo" and use his Search function (buried in the upper left corner - it's not obvious) and search on Fainthearted Faction or Conscience Caucus. For some reason using quotation marks doesn't work for me.
