A few words about getting on the Recommended Diaries list. I just chided someone for fretting about not getting on, after putting a lot of work into his diary. Me, I take a more fatalistic view. I've seen some of my most prosaic and ridiculous diaries make the list... and some of the ones I felt most emotionally attached to sink like the proverbial stone. C'est la vie, babe. Cream rises -- but sometimes it just goes sour.
I do know this: consistently good diarists get their work seen on this blog, whether it's on the RD list or not (though it usually is). This blog is a giant soapbox for those of us with something to say in a meaningful, talented or unique way.

War on Drugs: The Masquerade (Part III of III) -- give it a visit and recommend, even if you don't have the time or clarity to read the whole thing tonight.
I'm biased in favour of Nephalim's stuff: the "drug war" happens to be one of my Top Three Outrageous Issues (not counting, of course, the whole Scumbags Taking Over the World thing).
