Where's my f'ing 'troll-rate diary' option, Kos?

No time for insightful political analysis or satire today, just a desperate plea for a new (and loooong-overdue) feature.

We can hide trolls' comments easily enough, but why can't we hide their diaries? Surely, many of you have had the same thought during the time that you've been here. I was reminded of it again yesterday, when the latest bit of Ron Paul-related douchebaggery appeared on the diary list. (Yes, kids...it's "Ron Paul Weekly (Volume 1)," so there'll be a lot more fun where that came from!)

Why do we have zero control over the diary list, especially when the rapid scrolling-off of diaries is a constant topic 'round these parts? If we're concerned about culling the diary list of troll deposits, conspiracy theories and unsourced one-paragraph musings, shouldn't we be able to HIDE those darn diaries?

Imagine how great it would be: Another Ron Paul diary? See ya. "Hillary is teh gay!" diary? See ya. Thirty-seven people all simultaneously posting "breaking" news about the latest political death? We can narrow it down to one. And don't tell me about the risk of abuse; trusted users are very judicious with their troll-ratings for comments, and there's absolutely no reason to think it'd be different for a diary.

In the approximately 2 3/4 years I've been here, I've never seen an explanation for why this couldn't be done, so as far as I know, it's plausible. If some of the programming gurus around here say otherwise, then I'll drop it. But until then, if you're in favor of a "troll-rate" diary option, post a comment here! Rec it! Riot in the streets! Burn an orphanage! We're mad as heck and we're not gonna take shitty, trollish, space-wasting diaries anymore.
