If They Nominate Bryan AGAIN, I'm Voting For McKinley

The Democratic Party has lost its way. Nowhere is this more apparent than the man we have chosen to be our standard bearer since 1896. We have allowed the free silver movement and the religious fanatics to infect our party. What of the days of the Bourbon Democrats? Grover Cleveland, after all, is our most successful Democratic President in the last 50 years. (Buchanan may have challenged him were it not for that whole unpleasantness that followed.)

Where are our J. Sterling Mortons? Our Samuel Tildens? Are we going to allow our party to be taken over by these people? These so-called "progressives?"

No, I say! If the Democratic Party dares to nominate a man such as William Jennings Bryan for the Presidency again in 1900, I will vote for the Republican. Because I believe the Democratic Party should be a party of rampant imperialism and little concern for the well-being of others. I believe that we must always first look after the interests of the moneyed and aristocratic class. That we must stem the rising tide of labor unions and these uppity workers demanding "rights" and "fair wages."

And the best way to accomplish this is to vote for William McKinley. Perhaps if the Democratic Party loses a couple more elections with Bryan it will see the light. We have to embrace nativism, aristocracy, and imperialism, or we are lost as a party.
