Here's another winnable House race that the DailyKos community needs to support. Its a Jeffersonian Democrat VS a Bush Republican.
Frank J. Gonzalez (D) VS Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R).
Pro-Civil Liberties VS. Pro-Bush.
Donate (
ActBlue Page), volunteer and help add another Congressional seat to our "Win" column in 2006.
Below are the details...
First of all, here's the 411 on Frank Gonzalez:
CANDIDATE STATEMENT: (From Florida Department of State Division of Elections)
Democrats, "old-school" conservatives, philosophical libertarians and others,
I support fiercely the U.S. Constitution and your Bill of Rights. It indicates that the invasions and occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan are illegal; that the unpatriotic "P.A.T.R.I.O.T." Act and "No Child Left Behind" are illegal; that travel prohibitions on "free" Americans, as well as U.S. trade sanctions on Cuba are illegal; that current federal tax-and-waste policies are illegal.
In 2004, I earned 27.2% as an unknown Libertarian. In 2006, I will unite different points of the political spectrum on common ground issues as a Jeffersonian Democrat.
Please support this noble objective.

Frank's been out on the streets talking to voters and collecting the signatures to qualify for the ballot (instead of paying $10,000 to the State of Florida). Even the
Miami Herald took notice and gave him some much-needed publicity for his grassroots campaign:
Miami Herald: Political beat
SOUTH FLORIDA
LIBERTARIAN TURNS DEMOCRAT FOR RACE
In a Dade-Broward district designed for Republicans, Frank J. Gonzalez won 27 percent of the vote in his Libertarian challenge to U.S. Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart year before last.
Now he's trying to get onto the Democratic primary ballot, again in Florida's 21st Congressional District. New party, same personal philosophy: minimal government, quit Iraq. If you haven't already, you'll see Gonzalez soon at a neighborhood supermarket anywhere from Cutler Bay to Pembroke Pines.
At a Publix near The Falls last week, Gonzalez was telling voters he'll have a chance if he keeps the roughly 54,000 voters who backed him before and picks up a good number of the approximately 100,000 Democrats in the district.
Who is Gonzalez? His website says he's a mortgage broker, former Chicago-based flight attendant and a 1989 grad of Coral Gables High. He turned 34 Saturday.

Frank has the heart and the platform to be a force for change in Congress. He needs the netroots to meet his grassroots efforts with
donations, publicity, and volunteers.
This is another winnable race for us in the 2006 midterm elections. Go to the
ActBlue Fundraising page or visit his
campaign site to help out.
Miami-Dade County's other two Bush Republicans (Ileana Ros-Lehtinen FL-18 || Mario Diaz-Balart FL-25) also have Democrat challengers. I'll drop a dairy on them when their ActBlue pages and campaigns are set up. Frank Gonzalez is the most experienced of the bunch so far.
Lets help these candidates win in 2006!
