Good morning,
Thank you very much for your message. The Home Depot has a policy that prohibits the running of its advertising on programs that express strong opinions or political views. Please note that this includes Bill O’Reilly’s program.
Thank you,
Ron

Ms. Tome,
I truly love shopping at your store- among other things I recently bought a small compressor and nail gun for some home projects- but I'm very unhappy with your choice to advertise to the shrill voices of rightwing political extremists like Bill O'Reily. And to be be honest, I'm considering encouraging all my friends, family and colleagues to perhaps shop with your competitor for this reason. I know people like O'Reily like to sling mud at anyone who doesn't agree with them- but this Army veteran, parent and Do-It-Yourselfer really hopes you'd rather be a company that all Americans can feel good to do business with; rather than a business whose values make them one to be avoided.
Moreover given the current trends I am surprised in your company's decision to deliberately alienate the political party that will in all likelihood control both the Congress and the Presidency within the next two years. And although I think the Democratic Party has the deserved reputation as being a forgiving and progressive organization, I also think that like anyone else we remember those who supported us, those who didn't.
Are you really trying to put out the message that Democrats aren't welcome at Home Depot? If not then you had better work fast because this is the word that is now circulating nationally among party members and the leadership.
Best personal regards,
