Cindy's Running. I'm pissed off.

Cindy Sheehan announced her intention to run against Speaker Pelosi.  As an Independent.

I'm pissed.

I'm pissed because I love Cindy.  We've spared, but I still love her.  I'm pissed because she is ignoring the need.  I'm pissed because she is ignoring the electoral reality that we live in.  If she would recognize that We The People are the Democratic Party, and not get snowed by the right wing media in thinking that the party is some organization with top down control.  That is only true as long as you listen to Fox.  The truth is that the Party, in fact any party, is a collection of people who push for their ideas and ideology.  Thanks to the rules of the game, we have to have a corporate structure for the Democratic National Committee and the state parties.  So what.

I've written about this before.  WE are the Democratic Party.  And our candidates need to file as Democrats, win as Democrats, and change the party from the inside.

Not one dime, Cindy.  You'll get not one dime from me unless you change to running against Nancy Pelosi in the Democratic Primary.

Does anyone really think that it is worth LOSING A DEMOCRATIC SEAT IN CONGRESS to get Cindy to Washington DC?  I don't think it's worth it.

I do want Cindy in D.C.  As a Democratic representative of San Francisco, if she can prove through grassroots organizing and mastery of the issues that she would be a better representative than the incumbent.
