Today's
St. Louis Post-Dispatch has a few more details about Joyce Aboussi's run-in with the SEIU and AFSCME.
Mostly, the details are he said/she said, but the Post-Dispatch is reporting that 3 sources "familiar with the meeting" said that "Williams told Aboussie that SEIU had no plans to send Missouri members to Iowa to help Dean or to mount a campaign for Dean in Missouri -- two of her key demands" and that "problems arose when Jones [AFSCME] indicated that he might not be able to abide by Aboussie's demands," and that the union reps needed to check with their bosses.
Also, the article points out, Gov. Holden was apparently very quiet during the meeting. Too quiet, maybe. He was part of a discussion about using state employees as political pawns; shouldn't he maybe have balked at that a little?
