May 26, 2002 ~ the day politics changed, forever

Whilst reading this good article;
The Rise of Kos by E. J. Dionne Jr.
it dawned on me that I have been (since that fortuitous date) a participant in/of DKos news and a happy one at that.
The beauty of Daily Kos is that it is lemmingless. Kossacks, posters (aka non-trolls) , daily and nightly diarists and the amazing front pagers are all truly independent in thought and in voice.
DKos has taken hold of my political intellect and made me discover, learn and be aware.
My top 20 blog links are almost all a result of some linkage to the original Kos. FireDogLake's URL sits right next to Kos'. I dearly miss the voices of Steve G. and Billmon and Media Whores Online, all linked for me via the DKos.
Mr. Dionne makes an important point but Markos and his/our community site is NOT limbaughesque. Even more so with a crazed moonbat like Bill O. screeching in his viewership's wildnerness (that this is so). DKos has changed the landscape. The ol' MSM is history. Hateful people like bill and rush can tend to their and bush's 25% base.
I may be one of a few Canadian members that appreciates Markos' influence on the political scene. I wish we had a similar voice on the Canadian Liberal blogosphere. Until then I'll check http://www.dailykos.com many times a day.
Thanks Markos.
