A Canadian Press article today --
U.S. perplexed by Canada on missile defence -- quotes Paul Cellucci (US Ambasssador to Canada) today making his usual absurd comments about US-Canadian relations.
One statement in the article, however, surprised me:
Cellucci compared the situation to one that occurred during the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. He noted that it was a Canadian general at Norad who scrambled military jets under orders from U.S. President George W. Bush to shoot down a hijacked commercial aircraft headed for Washington.
Has the US previously admitted that military jets were given orders to shoot down planes headed for DC on 9/11? Or is this a new revelation/slip?
