Delaware is an important primary state, having its primary alongside SC, NM, AZ, ND, OK, and MO on Feb. 3.
The state won't offer much in the way of delegates, but many of you overestimate the importance of delegates. The media will be looking to cull candidates (and thus costs) by writing off as many candidates on this day. Hence, actual victories, rather than delegates won, will determine which candidates are "allowed" to continue and which will wither and die as their coverage shrivels up and dies.
Right now, DE looks to be the sole early state leaning Lieberman. Indeed, Lieberman has been the only candidate to visit the state (twice). But that will change, and like everywhere else Lieberman will fade as his opponents' name IDs rise. It's inevitable.
Dean will be looking to steal some victories on a date that's reserved for the "anti-Dean". Gephardt will be looking for a second state to butress his likely MO victory (assuming he's survived Iowa). And Clark will be looking to string together two or three victories to emerge as the "anti-Dean".
Every Feb 3 state, no matter how big or small, will be important.
