Ken Blackwell:
"Ohio conducted an election successfully and it did so in a manner we can always be proud of," he said.

That sound you hear is Martin Luther King rolling over in his grave...
Blackwell, answering questions about the state, said Ohio's biggest problem is in it's growth deficit. He said young people are leaving for other states, and contrasted that 77 percent of Ohio's households have companion pets while only 38 percent have children.
The reason, he said, is that 25-39 year olds are leaving at an alarming rate. He said the same is true for older people, saying in any given 24-hour period during a business day that an average of 250 Ohioans become residents of Florida.
"I started a talk (in Florida) with a cry from my heart," he said. "Florida, let our people go."
Blackwell said Ohio is troubled by a perception that more opportunities lie outside of its borders. He accused state government spending of "going through the roof" and said the state has gone from being the 11th most burdensome state in state and local taxes to being the third most burdensome and pushing second.
That's right-TAXES BAD! Never you mind what they're for. I'll just keep telling you that taxes are bad and I want to "relieve" you of your tax "burden". How about coming clean, Kenny, and telling us what else we'll be "relieved" of if taxes are cut?
And, granted I am not an expert in this area, but haven't local taxes had to rise because of the Bush admin's tax cuts at the federal level?
Ken is so ideologically driven that he is incapable of thinking "big picture" on the reasons people might leave Ohio. You know, I seem to recall some warning about our state being less able to attract young people, if your pet Issue 1 was passed, and employers like the Ohio State University would no longer be able to offer domestic partner benefits. But that couldn't possibly be a part of the problem, huh Ken?
