I just saw Bush end his photo-op speech abusing our soldiers as props in Alaska. He basically told the country that Democrats are responsible for the problems in Iraq and we are lying about his lying.
I find it "irresponsible" to embark on a political strategy that cites no supportable facts and misstates quotes from Democratic leaders in an effort to battle an accusation of untrustworthiness.
How stupid does he think we are?
The facts are clear. "Imperial Hubris" by Anonymous, "First IN" by Gary Schroen, and "The Politics of Truth" by Joseph Wilson are only three books citing evidence of intelligence manipulation. These are three of the countless books that just happen to be on my bookshelf.
Libby has been INDICTED for suppressing the investigation into leaking the name of a CIA analyst as revenge for accusing the Cabal of lying. Rove is still under investigation. The first part of the Republican-led "investigation" into prewar intelligence specifically declined to investigate how the administration used intelligence. And it took an EMERGENCY RULE 21(?) closed-senate session to get the Republican-led congress to get off their asses and investigate phase 2 of the issue. And we have yet to see a single stone unturned after that session.
But...listen....I'm the president....the democrats are "flip-floppers"...trust me...wink wink.
How incredibly paternalistic. Does he think we'll just forget all we've seen and read. It reminds me of a Daily Show spot parodying an "ethics exam" for the Bush White House. Q: Which is more Credible? A. Your eyes. B. Your ears. C. The president.
Bush says "trust me" while democrats say "trust the facts."
