The wind has blown....

Mon Jan 07, 2008 at 11:26:50 AM PDT

The wind has blow and as a result, I must change my mind.  Just before starting to write this, I was an Edwards supporter.

I agreed with his plan for health care.  Mandate health coverage for all, allowing subsidies for those who are not in a position to be able to afford it.  Putting us in a position to be one step closer to universal health care.

I loved his position on corporate America.  Wrestling with it's vice like hold on the middle class.  His goal to protect what's left of middle class jobs in America and fight to bring them back.  I even started to cry during the debates on Saturday when he talked about seeing the lobbyists walk around washington and then thinking of what his parents went through when he was a child.  His wondering where was the ones that represented his parents in washington, not the special interests.  He moved me.

I didn't feel just the pull of John Edwards emotionally and I didn't think his ideas and policies were reasonable to me.  I had the exquisite joy of both, the feeling and the thinking.  Emotion and reason called to me in voting for Edwards.

The wind has blown however and with it, so goes my convictions, my views on policies, and the sweet smell of freshly baked pie.  Now due to one caucus; some of that wind is due to people feeling the hope Obama creates; some of that wind is due to people moving in line with his stance on the issues, his lack of mandates in health care reform; some of that wind is due to a biased media.  Most importantly though, some of that wind, a mighty wind, pooted out of a fear of other candidates or a need of not being on the bandwagon.

That wind has blown so as a result, I must change my mind.  I now feel the pull.  I now put forth that I must support .....oh wait, the air conditioning in here shifted again.......the direction, the speed.....hmmm..

We face today one of the most critical junctures in this nation's history with this coming election.  As a result, I must show the conviction I wish my candidates to show when addressing the issues for which I will elect them to office, I must now support....
