WA-08: Holding Pattern

King County just dropped another ballot count, and Darcy is basically holding. Literally there was just a .03 percentage change from last night's totals.
Depending on turnout (there are still ballots in the hands of the US Postal Service) there's probably about 39% of King County ballots left to count. It's a little harder to know with Pierce County, since they've stopped posting the amount of ballots in hand still to count, but based on projected turnout and what's been reported, they probably have about 47% of the ballots counted.
If Pierce holds where it's at, and Burner gets to solidly above 51% in King (the county that's better for Darcy), then it's very good news for Burner. But those are still ifs. We have no idea where the ballots still to be counted come from in King, or when they were cast. So anything is speculation, but there's no reason to think Darcy won't get a good batch of ballots (the schedule for ballot releases is here). Another bit of intriguing information is a definite trend in Pierce for undervotes--700 ballots so far that didn't have a vote registered in this race. If people didn't vote in this one, it's good that it was in Pierce.
The campaign manager, Derek Humphrey has a message to relay, though. The campaign has a team in place preparing for long and tough recount process. They've got people in place watching the ballots be processed, and are on top of it. He says, "we're going to leave it all on the road in the second round."
Let's hope that this doesn't go to recount, but if it happens, Darcy's ready.
