Another night of research on "my congressman" Mike Pence (IN-6), led me to read
his September 2005 glowing tribute to good old Ronald Reagan. (lucky me).
I wasn't going to blog about it, it's just another wingnut waxing on about Raygun and apple pie...(definitely only click the link if you prefer copious hot air). So, if I wasn't going to blog, then why are you reading this now? Because an amazing coincidence happened. I looked up at the TV and on the screen was Steve Martin in front of an American flag (ala Patton). It was on old clip of the "What I Believe" bit. (on PBS, Mark Twain Award Special)
I said to myself, "HA!, a prematurely gray guy giving a pompous speech in front of the flag--just like Pence. And at that moment, Steve Martin said, "...and I believe that Ronald Reagan can make America what it once was: a barren land completely covered with glaciers." You tell me, message from God or what?
