Bill goes after Obama in Texas

Fri Feb 15, 2008 at 01:30:30 PM PDT

Bill Clinton is back to his old tricks in Texas today.  Per the Dallas Morning news (hat tip to TPM for this) Bill Clinton attacked Obama’s health plan saying this:

"Her opponent excites more Americans ... but would in fact deny us universal health-care coverage for the first time,"

For the first time?  Ummm, what?  That doesn’t really make sense seeing as how we have never had Universal Health care.

Bill Clinton clears it up a bit later on with the following offering:

"It would be truly tragic if the Democratic Party walked away from universal health care for the first time in 60 years when we finally got the business community and the medical community in line behind us,"

Ohhhh, I get it now.  Because the corporations want it we now need it?  Are the needs of the corporations that much more important than the needs of the people?  And of course the Health care insurance companies like Hillary’s plan, not buying what they are selling is a crime under Hillary’s plan.

Mandates are a HUGE giveaway to insurance companies and are not Universal Health care.  Car insurance is mandated, but not everyone who drives has car insurance.  Actually, car insurance is a bad example because driving is an option one has, living really isn’t.  Never mind the fact that some people in this country can barely afford to feed themselves, much less by insurance.  So I suppose Hillary would garnishee the wages of the uninsured who are barely getting by, forcing them to buy insurance they can’t afford and forego food.  Then, when the people who can’t afford food go to the hospital suffering from starvation, the nurse or doctor on duty can give them food, maybe they could do a cross-promotional deal with McDonalds or KFC, I bet they could give huge campaign contributions.  We can call it McMedicalCare.
