Say the magic words and a duck will come down...

Mon Feb 18, 2008 at 11:29:19 AM PDT

I watched the Wisconson Founder's Day Gala speeches (which is not yet up on the Obama Web Site) televised live on C-SPAN, and I'm here to report that I heard the magic words!

The Senator said that he would restore Habeas Corpus, close Gitmo, restore the Constitutional balance between the Executive and Congressional branches of government, and return the US to the rule of law!

I have been waiting to hear these magic words.

If Senator Clinton has said them, I have not heard her.  If any other candidate has said them, I have not heard them.  And, if someone else has diaried this tell me at once and I will delete this.

Update: As several commentors have pointed out, both Senator Dodd and Senator Edwards have said this previously.  I have not heard them, so I erronously ommited their previous committment to this issue.

This is not "just empty rhetoric".

This is not just a "feel good moment".

This is the CORE of change that we must demand if we are to reclaim the United States from the Unitary Executive, and the Neo-Con fabulations that have nearly destroyed our country by circumventing oversight, disobeying the laws enacted, and defying the Congress and the Courts to do anything to rein in their illegal activities.

This is the soaring ideation I have been waiting for!  This signifies a real change...

The duck just came down and awarded the good Senator $100, today.  Groucho would be pleased.
