Tue Feb 19, 2008 at 06:12:52 PM PDT

Update #2 to reflect huge Obama win in Hawaii.
Update #3 to reflect huge Obama win in Democrats Abroad primary

24 contests won in past 2 weeks - look what Obama has done.

From Feb 5 to Feb 19 - in the last 2 weeks alone - Obama has won 22 states (including DC) and throw in the US Virgin Islands & DemocratsAbroad and that makes 24 contests won in 2 weeks.

UPDATE - Thanks for the Rec'd diary !  Updated numbers in Wisconsin :  In single-digit frigid weather, 1.5 million of my fellow Wisconsinites came out to vote, 1.1 million in the Dem primary and only 400,000 voting on the Republican side.  With 100 % reporting, Obama won 58% to 41%.  This is a seriously huge victory - I'm stunned how close he was to 60 % here.  ( I believe kos' prediction was right on . . . didn't he say a 17-point margin earlier today ? )

CONTINUED BELOW THE JUMP WITH DETAILS & NUMBERS . . .

A picture is worth a few thousand words.  Reality check time.

Another Reality Check - but first, I am one proud Badger Stater tonight !

My beloved WISCONSIN !  My home state, the state of my birth, was called for Obama by all the networks mere seconds after the polls closed !

Folks this is HUGE.  His win must be enormous here, matching my most hopeful dreams.

This is a state which is 90 % white and has a lot of working-class folks, decent people in small cities, small towns, and rural areas.

BARACK OBAMA CAME HERE and spent a week criss-crossing the state.  He went to Eau Claire, Wausau, Green Bay, Oshkosh, Racine, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Janesville, Beloit, Madison and I'm probably missing a couple places.

He spoke - in person - to more than 50,000 people.  Wisconsinites appreciate people who come here and work for our vote, and come talk to us, and visit parts of Wisconsin beyond just Madison and Milwaukee.

I am PROUD to be a Wisconsinite tonight !

== Obama has won the most states by far.
== He has a significant number of big wins.
== He leads in the popular vote.
== He continues to expand his lead in the pledged delegate count.
== He continues to have a clear lead in the overall delegate count.

Total Number of States/Other contests won* (includes District of Columbia and American territories) :

Obama - 26 (includes US Virgin Islands & DemsAbroad)
Clinton - 12 (includes American Samoa)

That's 26 of 38 decided contests - more than two-thirds.  More details below . . .

* This does not include MI or FL, nor should it.  Neither of those states has been decided and presently per DNC rules they both have 0 delegates.

BIG WINS

Obama has 22 states/contests in which he got 55 % or more of the vote, and - get this - a stunning 15 contests in which he has received 60 % or more of the vote.  (Conversely, Hillary has gotten 35 % or less of the vote in 15 contests.)

PLEDGED DELEGATES

Obama has a strong lead in pledged delegates, 1159-1014, and it is getting stronger every day.  This is a nearly 150-delegate lead which is virtually insurmountable.  Hillary will need to win Texas AND Ohio AND Pennsylvania each and win all of them in the range of 65-35 to hope to TIE Obama now.

OVERALL DELEGATES

Obama continues to have a clear lead in overall delegates, 1319-1249.

POPULAR VOTE

In the delegate contests decided to date, Obama has a clear lead in the popular vote, 10.1 million to 9.2 million.  That's a nearly 1-million vote lead.

Here's the kicker :  Even if Florida and Michigan are included (which I adamantly oppose, because of reasons given above, namely DNC rules, plus the lack of a real campaign in either), it's undeniable :  Obama still leads in the popular vote :  he has 11 million to Hillary's 10.7 million!

Let's review, shall we.

38 states/contests decided to date :

OBAMA - 26 states/contests won to date, Jan 3 to Feb 19, 2008:

Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Democrats Abroad, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Carolina, US Virgin Islands, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and (hallelujah) WISCONSIN!

From the Northeast to the Deep South.  From the Midwest to the Plains to the Mountains and Northwest (and beyond). Donate to the Obama campaign HERE !

CLINTON - 12 states/contests won to date, Jan 3 to Feb 19, 2008:

American Samoa, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee.

No matter how you look at it, Obama is leading every which way, and as he said on Feb 12 in Madison WI, he's won in the North, he's won in the South.  He's won in the East, he's won in the West.  And he's won in between.

C'mon, you know you wanna - Donate Here !

Now on to Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont on March 4.

YES. WE. CAN.
