I am sending a letter to the Shrub. Believe me I know it won't do any good, but it will make me feel better.
Give me feedback before it goes out on Monday. Thanks!
Dear Mr. Bush:
I read with interest your comments today calling me and many Americans unpatriotic and lending aid to the enemy. I feel a weak president that is not trusted by his country lends the enemy much more comfort than I ever could.
I am very patriotic, love this country, and support our troops. I, unlike you and many in your party, want better benefits for our troops and veterans. I feel it is very unpatriotic to cut veterans' benefits or send troops into war without the right equipment. Yet, these are things you have done. Your party continues to cut benefits for those who have served this country while cutting taxes for those who have raped this country. How dare you call me unpatriotic!
To quote you said "The stakes in the global war on terror are too high and the national interest is too important for politicians to throw out false charges." How about the false pretenses that you used to send young men and women into harms way?
You may talk all you want now about `democracy in the Middle East', but America knows that you scared us with talk of WMD that was never found. Your handlers have begun to say "democrats had the same intelligence as Republicans." You know that is a lie. So much has come out recently showing the intelligence that was not pro-WMD; intelligence you choose to ignore. Many of us could not ignore it - we didn't know about it.
I am happy to say that I have never supported the war in Iraq. Lest you think I am some peacenik (not a derogatory term, by the way), I did support the war in Afghanastan and wish you had finished it. Where is Osama anyway? What happened to `dead or alive'?
You came into office to `restore honor and integrity to the office.' You have had the opposite effect. Your scandals may not involve sex, they involve much more important topics. If you truly believed what you said about the office you hold, you would appoint a new Vice President and then resign. It would be best for the country and show us that you were honest about restoring honor to the office.
