John Edwards is a "panderer and a demagogue"

Not my words. These are the words of the ever "fair and balanced" Chris Wallace, the host of "Fox News Sunday".
Last night on "A Daily Show", Chris Wallace came on to drum up viewers for Fox's Super Tuesday coverage.
I'm not sure how that was supposed to work. Generally speaking, if you watch "The Daily Show" on a regular basis, you're probably not part of the demographic that Fox is looking for. More specifically, if you were watching TDS last night, you were choosing to not watch the Super Tuesday coverage at the eleven o'clock hour (through the judicious use of DVR technology and old fashioned channel surfing, I was able to do both). So much for Fox's progressive marketing strategy, which only got worse as the segment progressed.
More on the flip.
After announcing the exciting news that Karl Rove would be joining Fox and explaining that notwithstanding all the controversy surrounding Rove, Rove was the architect of the winning 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns of George Bush, he says, without a hint of irony: "And we all know how that went...". As if this country would have suffered greatly, but for the genious of Rove.
Anyway, I'm getting off topic because what really burned my ass watching this jerk was what he said about my former candidate: John Edwards. During the last minute of the segment, after Jon brought up the fact that the Democrats were basically boycotting Fox, Wallace announces that just that day, prior to the primaries, Hillary Clinton agreed to a debate on Monday night. Jon is all: "Really? With who?". Wallace says that Obama hasn't agreed to it yet but that now that Edwards is out of the contest, the dam has broken. Jon then states the obvious that JRE was the hardliner and that HRC was always probably willing to debate on Fox all along. And then, my mouth dropped open to the floor when Wallace replied: "Well, we like to think of him as the panderer and the demagogue.".
WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!
I guess the truth about what they over at Fox really think of the Democrats sort of slipped out of Wallace's mouth. Not that this is a secret to anyone here at the Dailykos, but to have the balls to go out there and say it on national television?
How dare he insult a man with more integrity and decency in his little pinky, than exists in the entire staff over at Fox?
If Hillary wants to go debate on Fox, I say let her! She can debate Hannity and O'Reilly. If they don't like her answers, they can always cut off her mike.
I have recently switched from the Edwards camp into the Obama camp and while I think that Hillary is well qualified to be the president, and while I will support whoever is the nominee, it's this kind of shit that makes me wonder about her ethics. How can she give any credibility to what is essentially a right-wing propoganda machine that wears its bias on its collective sleeve.

The smear of JRE comes at the 6:36 mark.
